General required skills
Most of our jobs are based in Sydney, Australia, although we will consider people from other areas in the case of an exceptional candidate. Work location is generally either Manly (on Sydney’s Northern Beaches) or Sydney CBD.
For Australian based roles, permanent Australian residency or a long-term work permit visa is generally a requirement although we may consider visa sponsorship for exceptional candidates.
Fluency in a language other than English will be highly regarded – in particular Japanese and major European languages (French, German, Spanish, Italian etc). Travel or an interest in other cultures is also important.
Our roles are typically quite autonomous so require people with good self-motiviation and self-discipline who can also work well with other team members as required.
For technical roles, we are particularly interested in people with considerable real-world exposure to open-source server technologies. In particular, experience with the following applications and operating systems is highly regarded.
- FreeBSD (or a Linux server operating system such as RHEL, CentOS or Debian)
- Apache web server
- AJAX and web applications
- OpenVPN, OpenSSH, GnuPG or PGP
Sales opportunities are available for motivated, energetic people who can deliver exceptional service to clients and meet and achieve sales targets.
Experience with Internet services preferred, for example colocation and data centers, bandwidth, domain name registrar sales, web hosting, web design, ISP or telco background.
As our clients are located all around the world, knowledge and sensitivity of other cultures is an useful asset. Willingness to travel, keep occassional odd hours, and speak (or learn!) languages other than English are also important for our sales team to possess.
Business development & account managers
We currently have a position available for a corporate business development manager to push growth for our colocation and data center network globallly.
The qualified applicant should have considerable business-to-business sales or marketing experience with a proven ability to generate new business. Experience in the corporate market is essential.
