Fully managed service
We provide full management of the FTP server’s operating system, security environment and so on.
In doing so, you can outsource all the complexity to us and rest assured we will provide a reliable, secure FTP service that allows you to concentrate on your core business.
We can provide a range of backup options to suit your requirements. For very rapidly changing data, the data protection offered by the RAID disk arrays we utilise on all our servers may provide enough protection.
For critical data or data that changes less frequently, we offer on-site or off-site remote backup of all the FTP data, which can be arranged as frequently as required (e.g. hourly, daily, weekly etc).
Private or shared service
Sublime IP Managed FTP service is available as either a dedicated server product, where a physical server is allocated solely for your use; or as a shared product where you share server resources with other users (but of coursely securely partitioned to ensure other users cannot access your files and vice versa).
Our managed FTP service allows you to create as many users as you need. This is done via our secure, web-based management web site.
Each user can have their own username and password as well as a home directory that you set depending on each user’s security requirements. For example, a master or highly trusted user can have access to your full FTP space. Within that space you may then wish to allocate sub-directories as the “top level” for particular users, for example just giving your accounts team access to the “accounts” directory; advertising team to the “advertising” folder but allowing managers to access all folders.
New user creations are instantaneous on the FTP server allowing for quick setup of new users at any time of the day or night. You can also make instant updates to passwords via the master account, or if you prefer each end-user can also make secure changes to their own password only.
Global server mirroring
Our global reach allows us to offer another unique feature, which is automatic syncronisation of multiple worldwide FTP servers. In addition to added redundancy, this provides higher speed and throughput for your end users once implemented.
For example, if you are based in the U.K. and have some clients in the U.K., some in the U.S.A. and some in Australia, you can upload your FTP files for distribution to one of our FTP servers based in the U.K. or continental Europe providing the quickest speeds.
As each file upload completes (or, if you prefer, on a delayed basis such as a once a day or once an hour syncronisation) we will automatically transfer new files to the remote FTP servers. Your end users in geographically distant locations such as Australia can then download from an FTP server that is local to them, allowing them to enjoy much higher download speeds than would be the case if they were to collect the files directly from the U.K.
